On March 23^d, 2017 during the visit to Spain, the delegation of Saint-Petersburg’s High School representatives, headed by the Head of Committee on Science and High School of St. Petersburg Andrey Maksimov, paid a visit to the Spanish National Research Council’s main office.

Created in 1931, judging by its functions, it resembles The Russian Academy of Sciences, though it does not have any individual membership. It has a number of specialised research centres, whose activity is organised around relevant scientific-technical areas from astronomy to biology, and from mechanics to ecology.

The delegation was met by Vice-President of Scientific and Technical Research Cristina de la Puente and her Deputy Paloma Tejedos, who made a detailed presentation on the Council’s main activity. In his turn, Mr. Andrey Maksimov gave a thorough insight into the structure of research institutions and high schools in Saint-Petersburg, as well as of their duties and activity.

The meeting ended in signing of the prepared Memorandum of Understanding between the Committee on Science and High School of St. Petersburg and the Spanish National Research Council, which opens new opportunities of cooperation between research institutions and high schools in Saint-Petersburg and Spain.
