On June 27^th, 2017 Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University was visited by the delegation of China Railway Group Limited (CREC) with the Vice-President of the Electrification Bureau Mr. Liu Dehai in charge.

The Corporation is the leader in railway engineering, including electrification and construction of bridges and tunnels. Over 90 thousand km of railway tracks were built by the Corporation. 10 thousand of them make high-speed railway lines. The company is engaged in construction in more than 90 countries.

The guests had an excursion in the Department of Electric Power Supply on the Railway, where they visited the Laboratory of Traction Energy, and discussed possible engagement of Chinese specialists together with the university’s scientists in realisation of project Moscow-Kazan high-speed line.

In the Conference Hall the delegation was met by Rector Mr. Alexander Panychev, Vice-Rector for Research Dr. Tamila Titova (Mrs.), Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Intelligent Technologies Dr. Petr Bulavskiy (Mr.), and the Head of International Programmes Office Dr. Igor Kiselev (Mr.).

The parties agreed to prepare an agreement which would enable training specialists for CREC at PGUPS as well as joint establishment of PGUPS-based Electric Power Laboratory.

Mr. Rector noted high pace of development of cooperation between Russia and P.R. China. Warm partner relations between universities of the two countries serve a good example of it. Mr. Panychev also invited Mr. Liu Dehai to participate in the conference ELTRANS. In his turn, Mr. Liu Dehai invited PGUPS’s representatives to visit the company’s enterprises in Beijing.

During the excursion at the university, the guests visited the Centre for Railway Operation, Mendeleev’s laboratory, the Scientific and Technical Library.
