PGUPS Delegation Visits Harbin University of Science and Technology
On April 18th, 2017 the delegation of PGUPS represented by Rector Mr. Alexander Panychev and Vice-Rector for International and Public Relations Dr., Prof. Igor Kiselev and Head of the Department of Educational Institutions and Legislation of Roszheldor Mr. Georgiy Merkulov visited Harbin University of Science and Technology (HUST).
The present University was established in 1995 when three higher institutes, Harbin University of Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Electrical Engineering and Harbin Higher Industrial Vocational College, combined into Harbin University of Science and Technology.
Today, HUST is a progressive engineering higher education institution offering 47 Bachelor degree programmes, 51 Master degree programmes, including 11 Engineering Master programmes and 16 Engineering Postgraduate programmes.
The University comprises 17 institutes and 9 scientific centres, which in their turn are equipped with several certification laboratories. The University has nearly 20 thousand students, 1400 workers of teaching staff, including 652 professors and associate professors.
The visit of PGUPS was a reciprocal one. In October, 2016 the delegation of HUST represented by Vice-Rector for International Relations Professor Fang Wenbin visited PGUPS. On October 26th, during the VI International Anniversary Scientific Conference «Transport Technospherical and Ecological Safety» (TEBTRANS-2016), the two universities signed the Agreement on Scientific and Educational Cooperation.
On April 18th, 2017 the guests from Saint-Petersburg were met by Rector of HUST Prof. Li Dayong. The Chinese side was also represented by members of the key structures and faculties. During the talks, a wide range of cultural, academic and scientific issues was discussed. The administration of HUST already during its visit to PGUPS expressed their eagerness to join the International Scientific and Educational Project «Heritage of Betancourt» and participate in Saint-Petersburg International Engineering Forum. Rector Alexander Panychev informed the administration of HUST about the process of preparation for the Forum.
After the meeting, the delegation had an excursion to HUST’s laboratories and centres.
