On March 23^d — 24^th, 2017 the members of High School delegation, in accordance with their interests, visited several schools (faculties) of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and other universities.

The guests were met in: UPM’s High School of Engineers of Roads, Channels and Ports, School of Civil Engineering, School of Mining and Energy Engineering, School of Aeronautics and Space Engineering, School of Industrial Engineering and the Centre for Biomedical Technology.

The delegation has also paid visit to The Autonomous University of Madrid, The Complutense University of Madrid, Carlos III University of Madrid and King Juan Carlos University.

During the visits, the partners held talks and meetings with the administrations and students, and considered future joint research and academic activities.

Visiting UPM’s High School of Engineers of Roads, Channels and Ports, the delegation had a pleasure to witness the ceremonial opening of the Museum of Geology. This facility of the University had been being created during the last decades by a bunch of enthusiasts, supported by Rectorate and a number of commercial companies engaged in geological survey and natural resources extraction. The Museum has just started its path of a scientific, academic and enlightening institution within UPM, and become an institution of great interest for professors, students of engineering and other specialties. The head of the delegation Mr. Andrey Maksimov, an engineer by profession and Saint Petersburg Mining University’s alumnus, which possesses the biggest and the oldest Geological Museum in Russia, has highly appraised the new facility of UPM, adding that there would now arise another form of cooperation — the exchange of information between the kin museums.
