On July 7^th, 2017 Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University saw closing of XII International Scientific Conference «Rolling stock of XXI: ideas, challenges, projects». During the final plenary session, held in the Assembly Hall, the participants summarised the results of the three days Conference.

The Conference, which was held from July 5^th till July 7^th, was attended by more 150 specialists who gave over 80 reports on different aspects of railway cars building and rolling stock development.

The Chairpersons of all three sections of the Conference (Rolling stock, Rolling stock tests, and Dynamics, reliability and safety of rolling stock) have unanimously pointed out a wide range of the issues, high level and scientific significance of the given speeches and reports, and innovative aspect of scientific elaborations.

According to the participants, these new ideas and technical elaborations may be applied and implemented.

Vice-Rector for Research Dr. Tamila Titova (Mrs.) gave speech during the final session and congratulated the participants with the successful conference, wished them fresh ideas and their realisation, and expressed her hope to see new participants next year.

The Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Head of the Department of Railway Car Facilities Dr. Yuriy Boronenko (Mr.) has summarised the work of the conference and thanked the participants for their high performance.
