Head of Passenger and High Speed Department Ignacio Barron visits PGUPS
On December 2d, 2016 Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University was visited by Ignacio Barron, Head of Passenger and High Speed Department of The International Union of Railways (UIC).
A Civil Engineer and Barcelona’s Technical University of Catalonia alumnus, Ignacio Barron is familiar with the work and the life of Agustin de Betancourt, highly appreciates PGUPS’s activities associated with dissemination of knowledge of the great statesman and engineer. He is also well familiar with the International Scientific and Educational Project «Heritage of Betancourt» which he fully supports and encourages.
Mr. Barron chaired the seminar «Update on High Speed Rail in the World» for professors, graduates and postgraduates of the University. At the beginning of the seminar, Mr. Farron delivered speech to the participants and congratulated the staff with 207th anniversary of the University. The presentation is available on this website.
Rounding up the seminar he presented PGUPS with the newly published work of a French scientist Michel Leboeuf «Grande vitesse ferroviaire» both in English and French.
