On April 26-29, delegation of the Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University led by the Rector Alexander Panychev with the participation of Roszheldor representatives — Head of the Department of Educational Institutions and Legal Support Merkulov G.V., Head of Infrastructure and Transportation Department Krupin V.A. and Heads of Territorial Administrations visited Norway.

The delegation also included the first Vice-rector — vice-rector for Research Titova T.S., Vice-rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Koroviakovskii E.K., heads of departments and employees of PGUPS.

A meeting with representatives of the Norut Narvik Research Institute and the Arctic University of Norway was held in Narvik. The parties presented promising projects for joint implementation, and at the end of the negotiations, a cooperation agreement was signed.

The Mayor of Narvik Rune Edwarzen opened this meeting. The Rector of PGUPS Alexander Panychev and representatives of the Norut Narvik Research Institute, the Arctic University of Norway, Ofotbanen Line & Nordlandsbanen railways and LKAB mining company made reports. For the Russian delegation were organized technical visits to the port and railway of Nravik. In addition, Russian guests visited the Military Museum and the Basefjord Memorial. Rector Alexander Panychev and Vice Mayor of Narvik Geir-Ketil Hansen put a wreath on the memorial.
