05.02.2019
Partnership

On 4 February 2019, a delegation from Kazakhstan’s Consulate General in Saint Petersburg led by Consul General Bolat B. Imanbaev visited Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University. PGUPS was represented by Rector Alexander Panychev, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Evgenii K. Koroviakovskii and by the Head of the International Relations Department Yuliya V. Strelchenya.

Cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and PGUPS has a long and rich history. Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications is named after M. Tynyshpaev, an alumnus of PGUPS and the first Kazakh railway engineer.

The Consul General stressed the quality of education and training at PGUPS and emphasized the necessity for future cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan in the creation of a unified transport and logistics system.

Currently there are more than 350 Kazakhstan citizens studying at PGUPS, many of whom will work on their country’s railways after graduation. The Consul General again noted the high level of professionalism and expertise of PGUPS graduates.

Rector Alexander Panychev invited the Consul General to attend the 210th anniversary celebration of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University on 2 December 2019. The Consul General was delighted to accept the invitation.
