The Results of the PGUPS Hackathon «Uni.Digit»

On November 14, 2018, Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University held the final stage of the «Uni.Digit» Hackathon within the framework of the Betancourt International Engineering Forum with the support of Tandem, Softline, DisplayGroup, LLC «Jupiter» and Eurasia International Corporation.

«Uni.Digit» Hackathon was attended by teams of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS), St. Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON), Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University «LETI» (ETU «LETI»), ITMO University, Saint-Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPSUACE), Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation, A.F. Mozhaysky Military-Space Academy, Russian University of Transport (RUT), The Bonch-Bruevich Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications (SUT), Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.

The task of the teams was to independently determine one of the key problems of a digital university and find a solution using an Internet service. The teams considered the problems of digitalization of functioning of academic offices, creation of virtual student wallets, streaming services for organizing e-learning and implementation of chat bots in the activities of the university.

The jury, headed by Vladimir Valerievich Kanin, the founder and CEO of PayMe Ltd., selected three projects to be presented:

  1. ITMO University «StudyTips»;
  2. A. F.Mozhaysky Military-Space Academy «System of students’ scoring»;
  3. Russian University of Transport «UniversityServices».

According to the results of the presentations, the first place was taken by the team of the A. F. Mozhaysky Military-Space Academy, second place took Russian University of Transport and third was taken by the ITMO University.

All participants of the «Uni.Digit» Hackathon received a memorable gift. The winning teams received valuable gifts from the sponsors of the event, DisplayGroup and LLC «Jupiter». The winning team from the A. F.Mozhaysky Military-Space Academy received certificates for a trip to the science city of Beijing.
