The department’s research areas include:

  • conducting inspections of the technical condition of buildings and structures in difficult engineering and geological conditions (such as permafrost soils, etc.) when exposed to dynamic loads from railway transport or seismic vibrations;
  • ensuring the seismic resistance of buildings and structures located in high-density areas with developed underground systems;
  • applying special methods of seismic protection of buildings and structures;
  • analyzing the durability of buildings in operation, developing the methods for their repair and reinforcement;
  • preparing regulations, technical specifications for the design, construction and operation of buildings and structures in special construction conditions.

Here students study for a Bachelor’s degree in 08.03.01 Civil Engineering, specialization Industrial and Civil Engineering; for a Specialist’s degree in 08.05.01 Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures, specialization Construction of High-Rise and Large-Span Buildings and Structures; for a Master’s degree in 08.04.01 Civil Engineering, specialization Design of Buildings and Structures in the Areas of Special Natural and Climatic Conditions and Technogenic Impacts.
