PGUPS Visits Hanoi’s University of Transport and Communications and Vietnam Railway Corporation

On November 3d, 2016 the Rector-headed delegation of PGUPS in Vietnam’s Hanoi was joined by Vice-Rector for Research Mrs. Tamila Titova, Head of the Educational Administration Mrs. Tatyana Satsuk, Professor of the Department for Automation and Telemechanics on the Railway Mr. Valeriy Sapozhnikov, and Heads of the Department for Railway Car Facilities, the Department for Management of Maintenance Works, the Department for Economics of Transport Mr. Yuri Boronenko, Mr. Alexey Kotenko, and Mrs. Natalya Zhuravlyeva respectively.

The delegation paid a visit to Hanoi’s University of Transport of Communications (UTC) where they held talks with Rector Nguyen Ngoc Long and other members of the Administration.

Established on November 15th, 1945, University of Transport and Communications is the largest and oldest transport state university in Vietnam. At present there are approximately 29 thousand undergraduate and post-graduate students. Every year professors and scientists realise hundreds of research projects and contribute into Vietnam’s transport technologies’ development.

UTC is a high level world university which is integrated into world’s educational environment. It comprises five faculties, three institutes and the International Education Centre.

During the meeting the Rectors of the universities signed the Agreement on Scientific and Educational Cooperation. According to the Agreement, both sides are to carry active actions on mutual cooperation in working out and implementing mutual educational programmes, joint researches etc.

After the talks Mr. Panychev visited Vietnam Railway Corporation. During the meeting with the Administration of the Corporation Mr. Panychev presented PGUPS as a large educational and scientific centre, spoke about its main competences and projects. During the talks, the proposal on organisation of qualification upgrade courses for Vietnam Railway Corporation was brought forward.

Vietnam Railway Corporation is one of the country’s ten biggest companies, with its main 1600km railway connecting the two biggest cities — Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Deputy Chief of the Company informed the Russian guests that current railway network was being upgraded. Besides, a development plan to 2050 includes realisation of big infrastructural projects, laying double-track railway in Southern Vietnam and enhancing railway passenger traffic to 200 km/h.
