The department is involved in educational, methodological, sports, and scientific work with students (together with the sports club).

The department solves a number of important tasks, including:

• encouraging good moral and physical qualities in our students;
• promotion of health;
• students’ physical training and maintaining of high performance throughout the entire period of study;
• physical training in accordance with the peculiarities of future work;
• acquiring the necessary knowledge on the basics of theory, methodology and organization of physical education and sports training;
• improving performance of student athletes;
• encouraging students to regularly engage in sports.
