The Department is responsible for:

• educational process in the strength science;
• research work, design and design projects in the field of mechanical engineering, industrial and civil construction;
• advanced study courses in the strength cycle disciplines.

The Department’s professors perform design works in the field of mechanical engineering, industrial and civil construction using modern computing tools and software. They also take part in the inspection of buildings and structures, the design of domes, bell systems not only for St. Petersburg, but other regions of Russia as well.
