ERASMUS+ Project
ERASMUS+ «Economics, Ecology and Infrastructure at High-Speed Railways» (EEIHSR)
Erasmus+ is the European Union program to support cooperation in the field of education, training, youth and sport.
It has integrated some previous programs such as The LifeLong learning Programme, The Youth in Action programme, The Erasmus Mundus Programme, Alfa, Edulink, Tempus and others.
Project «Economics, Ecology and Infrastructure at High-Speed Railways» (EEIHSR) is a part of Erasmus+ program.
The aim of the EEIHSR project is to create a «Double Degree» master’s program and share knowledge to gain more experience in high-speed railways. The master’s program will initially be implemented at one university in Russia (PGUPS) and Kazakhstan (KazATC). The knowledge will be shared by compiling a book on EEIHSR, introducing it into the curricula of other Russian (USURT, FESTU) and Kazakhstan universities (SKSU, ENU) and organizing advanced training courses for companies (in Russia and Kazakhstan).
The bilingual master’s program consists of four semesters and was designed according to the Bologna system. The program is based on experience and knowledge exchange between Russian (PGUPS, USURT, FESTU), Kazakhstan (ENU, KazATC, SKSU) and European universities — Technische Universität Dresden (Germany), University of Economics in Katowice (Poland) and Universidad politécnica de Madrid (Spain).
The program combines theory and practice including seminars in technical laboratories, technical tours, specialist presentations/colloquia. During their third semester, students study at one of the best transport universities in Europe — Technische Universität Dresden, where they study unique advanced experience from the best railway transport specialists. Upon completion of study and writing final qualification work (thesis) in English, the graduate receives two diplomas of higher education — of Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University and Technische Universität Dresden. Such specialists are always in demand on railways throughout Eurasia.

Training under the master’s program «Economics, Ecology and Infrastructure at High-Speed Railways» (specialization «Construction») is conducted on a fee paid basis starting September 1, 2019. Payment for one year of study is 217,500 rubles. After the first year of study, the ten best students will be awarded a European Union scholarship covering the costs of flights to and from Dresden, accommodation, meals and the purchase of educational literature in Germany during their third semester. The rest of the students can pay these costs themselves or continue their third semester at PGUPS. In Germany, lectures will be held in English with the participation of professors from Technische Universität Dresden and other Western European universities and enterprise specialists.
