A tutor of a study group introduces first-year students to the new conditions of university life, monitors their academic performance, works together with lecturers and professors, keeps in touch with parents.
One of the main tasks of a tutor is to help first- and second-year students adapt to university life, learn their rights and responsibilities, get accustomed to educational and extracurricular activities at the University. The main task of tutors of senior students is career counselling.
Once a week a tutor’s hour is held, where tutors can share the most important news and information, and students can ask their questions. A tutor’s hour is included in the classes schedule.
Department of pedagogical work and industrial training and Vice-Deans of the faculties are in charge of organizing the work of the tutors.
Department of pedagogical work and industrial training:
- conducts methodological seminars and training for tutors, keeps records on their selection and appointment, supervises the tutor’s hours.
- organizes certain events to help first- and second-year students adapt, such as tourist rallies, games and quizzes, the Faculty day, and others.
