Bryansk Technical School was founded in 1930 as «Transport technical school of western railways». It consisted of two departments — «Research and construction of railways» and «Construction of bridges and tunnels».

In the 1930s, the railway transport needed specialists of various areas: mechanical technicians of locomotive facilities first graduated in 1935, technicians of car facilities — in 1936.

Before the Great Patriotic War, more than 3000 railway specialists have graduated the Technical School.

Since 1943, after the liberation of Bryansk, a school of railway mass professions operated in this building. It also housed all the organizations of the Bryansk branch of the railway.

Currently, the branch has three academic buildings, 58 classrooms and laboratories, a library and a reading room, a gym, a ski base, a canteen, and training workshops. There is also a museum.

The teaching staff consists of 57 people. Since 2012, the Head of Bryansk branch is associate professor Yuri Nikolaevich Lunev.

In total, over the years, the branch has graduated over 25 thousand specialists. Currently, it offers following majors: Power supply (by industry); Technical operation of railway rolling stock; Construction of Railways, Track and Track Facilities; Organization of Transportation and Management in Transport (by mode); Economics and Accounting (by industry); as well as advanced training and retraining. On average, 300 people graduate the branch every year.
