The department “Automation and Telemechanics on Railways” was founded on August 1, 1930 and has ever since been a leader in its field.
Over the years, more than 8500 engineers, 130 bachelors, 60 masters, 130 candidates and 12 doctors of technical sciences have graduated the department.
A research institute of automation was established at the department as one of the leading design and engineering organizations in the industry. Projects performed by the department’s scientists include designing and implementing the АПК-ДК Dispatch Control System on the Russian railway network, designing and implementing ЭЦ-МПК Relay-processor centralization of switches and signals at 50 stations in Russia, Kazakhstan and Lithuania, etc.
Here students study speciality 23.05.05 Train movement support systems, specialization Automatics and Telemechanics on the Railway Transport.
Our graduates specialize in production, operation, maintenance and repair of devices and systems of automation and telemechanics, design, assembly and tests of new samples of train movement systems.
Work prospects include the companies and enterprises of St. Petersburg, conducting advanced development, design and maintenance of railway automation systems, as well as a career in one of the largest companies of the Russian Federation – JSC “Russian Railways”. Every year, some of our students undertake internships at leading German enterprises – DB and Siemens.
