The department’s research work is performed in the following scientific areas:
- scientific and technical services for technical expertise;
- calculation of stopping distances of new rolling stock;
- developing documentation for technological processes;
- creating three-dimensional models of locomotive structures for mobile applications, electronic forms, distance learning;
- creating automated programs to regulate electricity consumption for electric rolling stock;
- implementing an integrated quality control system at a railway enterprise;
- creating a single database with a detailed analysis of failures;
- creating a hierarchical structure of quality control;
- developing recommendations to optimize the traffic timetable;
- etc.
