“Russian academic and cultural luminaries and their worldwide legacy” educational project

PGUPS took part in two international online conferences held within the «Russian academic and cultural luminaries and their worldwide legacy» educational project. The conferences were organized by the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation.

The first conference was held on December 8, with support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Indonesia and assistance of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Jakarta. Representatives of Russia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea participated in the conference.

The second conference was held on the Russian Federation Constitution Day, December 12. The conference brought together over 200 participants from Russia and Malaysia, including representatives of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian universities, public figures and journalists from Malaysia.

The conferences were dedicated to the history of Russia’s relations with Indonesia and Malaysia, the way Russia is viewed by foreigners, the methods of studying Russian as a foreign language and the opportunities for foreign students to study in Russia.

Doctor of Sciences in Philology, professor of the PGUPS department of Russian and Foreign Languages Lyudmila Vladimirovna Miller presented her work titled «Myths about Russia: reality and stereotypes».
