Visit of the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to PGUPS
On July 23, 2024, the University was visited by a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, headed by Cobreiro Suarez Gustavo Jose, Counselor for Education and Science.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the academic performance of students. From PGUPS the meeting was attended by: Acting First Vice-Rector — Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs I.A. Teryokhin, Head of the Academic Department T.P. Satsuk, deans of faculties.
Since 2019, PGUPS has restarted the training of specialists in the field of railway transportation for the Republic of Cuba through budgetary allocations within the quotas of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Currently, 46 students from the Republic of Cuba are studying at the faculties of the University on the lines of the Ministry of Education and Science:
- The Faculty of Automation and Intelligent Technologies (6 people)
- The Faculty of Transport Construction (9 people)
- The Faculty of Transport Systems and Power Engineering (21 people)
- The Faculty of Railway Operation and Logistics (7 people)
- The Faculty of Pre-University Training (3 people)
