Delegation from Taiwan at PGUPS

On 30 January, 2019, Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University was visited by representatives of Advantech led by the Director General of Advantech in Russia Mr. Vincent Chang and the Head of the IoT Department Northwest Mr. Rahmankulov Ramil.

Advantech is one of the world’s largest developers of computer engineering for industrial automation, embedded systems and network solutions.

Our guests from Taiwan were received in the Conference Hall of the University by Rector Alexander Panychev, First Vice Rector and Vice Rector for Research Dr Tamila Titova, Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Public Relations Evgenii K. Koroviakovskii, the Head of the Research Division Andrey V. Benin, the Head of the International Relations Department Yuliya V. Strelchenya, the Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Intelligent Technologies Petr E. Bulavskiy and the Head of the Department of Railway Automation and Telemechanics.

PGUPS and Advantech discussed how they might cooperate in the future, including student mobility, summer internships, Advantech expert lectures for PGUPS students.

Talks also focused on the «2019 AIOT Developer Innoworks» programme, whose main task is to encourage faculty and students to develop innovative applications using the IoT WISE-PaaS platform (Industry 4.0, intellectual production, smart city, energy and environment). Following these discussions, the Director General of Advantech in Russia Mr Vincent Chang presented an overview of the company’s achievements and future plans.

At the end of the talks, a cooperation agreement was signed between PGUPS and Advantech.
