On the Day of Russian Science the solemn signing of an agreement between the University and the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences and Technology named after S.I. Vavilov, Russian Academy of Sciences was signed. The agreement provides, in particular, joint work on the International Scientific and Educational Project «Heritage of Betancourt». The Project is realized on the eve of the 260 anniversary of organizer and the first
Rector of our University, a distinguished scientist, engineer, architect and statesman Agustin de Betancourt. Document was signed by Director of St. Petersburg Branch of the Institute Nadezhda A. Ashcheulova and Rector of the PSTU Alexander Y. Panychev.

The agreement provides following tasks: carrying out joint fundamental and applied researches in the field of history of science, technology and innovations; implementation of scientific and educational programs and projects; holding conferences, seminars, symposia, round tables; publication of scientific, reference, methodical and educational literature; diploma practice organization and training; development of joint educational and training programs, etc.

Institute for the History of Natural Sciences and Technology named after S.I. Vavilov, Russian Academy of Sciences is created to carry out fundamental research and applied research in the field of History of Science, Technology and Science Studies. The main activities of the Institute are: identification, study and classification of the monuments of science and technology, organization and coordination of exhibition activity of the Russian Academy of Sciences and its institutions, etc.
