In the 1980s, international student team movement was actively developing at our University. Foreign students from PGUPS, together with their fellow students, traveled as part of international student construction teams to the Baikal-Amur Mainline and Leningrad region construction sites.

During cooperation development with the railway universities in Germany, Hungary and Slovakia, international student team exchange was held annually, when our students participated in the construction of residential and industrial facilities in those countries, and students from foreign partner universities worked as part of the famous student construction team «Forward» at the Oktyabrskaya Railway.

PGUPS made a proposal to JSC «Russian Railways» to create a united international student team of Russian railway universities’ students to work at the holding projects in foreign countries.

The University Rector A.Yu. Panychev received a letter from the First Deputy CEO of JSC «Russian Railways» S.А. Pavlov with gratitude for the offer to create a team to participate in the Russian Railways construction projects in the Republic of Serbia. S.А. Pavlov stated that «Russian Railways» is interested in qualified personnel to work on the company’s projects abroad and is ready together with Russian Railways International LLC to consider options for attracting student teams to work.

Russian Railways International LLC, within the cooperation agreement with PGUPS, will soon begin designing the project implementation procedure. A year of hard work is ahead for the first united student construction team to travel under the aegis of Russian Railways to the Serbian Railways facilities.
