As part of implementation of the strategic project No. 1 «Development of high-speed railways and maglev technologies» of the Priority 2030 program, a Geotechnical Research and Testing Center was created and put into operation at the Department of Road Construction of Transport Systems.

The center was created to form research teams at the university with the prospect of introducing practical and laboratory classes into educational programs.

Modern automated laboratory equipment makes it possible to determine the strength and deformation characteristics of soils and composite mixtures, which is necessary for calculating and designing the foundations of buildings and structures, linear transport facilities. Modern instruments allow to simulate dynamic and static loads, as well as to determine the characteristics of soils at negative temperatures, which is necessary when designing a subgrade in permafrost areas.

The center is a new opportunity to improve the level of research work and the quality of education at PGUPS and to support graduate students and young scientists.

The doors of the center are open to everyone who is interested in science!
