The Winners of the International Creativity Competition «Heritage of Betancourt» were Awarded in Paris

The winners of the International Creativity Competition «Heritage of Betancourt» awarded diplomas at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France). The competition was organized by Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS) in the academic year 2015. The winners were congratulated by Director of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées Armel de La Bourdonnaye.

The International Creativity Competition was held within the framework of the Scientific and Educational Project «Heritage of Betancourt» initiated by the PGUPS in association with École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris) and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Participants of the Competition were students of transport and polytechnic universities from Russia, France and Spain. Results of the competition were announced in St. Petersburg in April, and in Madrid in June 2016.

A group of students of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris) under supervision of Professor Konstantinos Chatzis made a research «The International Internship of Students of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in the 19th Century». This work won the first prize in the nomination «Essay». Particular attention is paid in this work to the personality of Agustin de Betancourt, who got the engineering education at the School and later became one of the foremost European engineers of his time.
