A Contest of Students’ Creative Works «Heritage of Betancourt» Finished in Spain

Universidad Polytécnica de Madrid (UPM) — the partner of Emperor Alexander I St.Petersburg State Transport University — has organized a contest of students’ creative works dedicated to the biography and engineering legacy of Agustin de Betancourt. Students of EscuelaTécnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, which is a part of UPM, took part in the Contest.

Similar contests were held in Russia and France. Their objective was to create competitive conditions for students striving to artistically reflect and present their knowledge about the great scientist and engineer of the 18th— 19th centuries. On April 20, 2016, in PGUPS the prizes were awarded to the winners of the Russian and French contests.

In Spain the contest was completed in June. An exhibition of winners’ works showing various drawings, collages and models has opened in EscuelaTécnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos.
